In 2020, a student attending university did an internship on our honey processing. Her major is food industry and she defended her paper last Saturday.

She did a very good presentation and got an excellent grade. What struck me were the questions asked from the jury after the presentation. Almost all the questions were about the form of the paper, not about the content. They were pointing out a missing capital letter, a missing comma, a label not centred… but very little about the analysis she did and their results.

Or she did  such a good presentation that there were no content questions to ask, or the jury was not able to ask questions about content?

New car for ASAP

It has been a long saga, but we finally got a new car for ASAP! Thanks to generous donors in The Netherlands and the associations MIVA / Liliane Fonds. We should also thank ODDS (Burkinabe association) which has sponsored ASAP.

Maison de la femme of Sipigui

This is the 11th “maison de la femme” that we have built. It was funded by a generous donor in France.  It is a bit different than the 10 others. The house was built using “laterite bricks” not cement bricks.

It does not make much difference in term of costs, but the laterite bricks are extracted (or carved) from fields in the village by young men. This gave them extra income. The inside is also cooler with this type of bricks.

Last Saturday was the inauguration of this house with a lot of guests.

I guess there was food. Men are at the inauguration while women are preparing the food!!

2 new houses at the LAP

The number of permanent teachers is increasing and we have built 2 new houses for them, funded by the van Kesteren Foundation. When completed we will have 9 individual houses and one house which can accommodate 4 people.

Grades of students for this school year will be known next week.
