The objective is to create as many vegetable gardens for the women in the villages.
In rural areas of Burkina Faso meals often consists mainly of cereals: no vegetable or fruit. This one-sided diet is a cause of malnutrition for children, making them more susceptible to disease and less able to perform at school.
By creating vegetable gardens for women, The ASAP Foundation wants to change the unilateral diet in rural areas in Burkina Faso.
In 2015, 14 new vegetable gardens were laid out.
In the dry season, it is difficult for the women to water the vegetable gardens sufficiently. Another problem are the stray animals (cows, goats). These animals are searching for food in the dry season and even fences offer insufficient protection
Our expectations are to create no more than 20 vegetable gardens.
