Climate in Burkina

This year, as I mentioned in previous blogs, rains continue to fall in October. We also saw a decrease in the amount of rain at the beginning of the rainy season in June.

Is it climate change? Is this a trend? You can see a very big variation from year to year.

This does not help farmers who have only one rainy season and have to adapt the work of the fields to the rain. Unfortunately, meteorologists do not predict the climate with enough anticipation to plan a good harvest.

Some renovations to the nursery school of Oualana

The nursery school in Oualana was opened in 2008. At the school and at the house of the teacher of the school, bats had found shelter between the roof and the ceiling. The results were: bad smell and rotten ceiling wood.

We were able to find funds to fix the problem. We also took the opportunity to repaint the classroom.

Cleaning the walls

The walls are almost finished with painting. The blackboard will be painted by the LAP students who are very close by the nursery school.

Proverbs of the week

Knowledge is like a garden, if it is not cultivated, it cannot be harvested.

Do not look where you fell, but where you slipped.

We arrive at the end of this trip, we will be back in the Netherlands next Saturday.

Take care of yourself,
