This week was busy week. Among the activities was a lot of cleaning of our administration which is not my favorite task.
But we had a very good visit to the village of Nefrelaye where I could enjoy the day.
Some projects in the village of Nefrelaye
Cashew trees project
In 2018 we were able to provide cashew trees to farmers in this village.
Thanks to generous donors we have been able to drill a second well to have more water. This new well is at 110 meters deep and produces 16m3 / hour of water. A downhole pump powered by solar panels brings the water to the basins. This will enable the women to double the size of their plot and thus their revenue from the sale of their vegetables.
One of the reasons of our visit was to help them with the distribution of the new available plots. It came out that each of the 60 women wanted a new plot. No space for new members… We ask them if they could think about redistributing the existing plots in order for them to have adjacent plots. It was an immediate NO. So we will be dividing the available ground in 60 plots and then they will be a draw to distribute them among the women.
Nice baobab along the way
Proverb of the week
“Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school.“
“Do not train children to learning by force and harshness, but direct them to it by what amuses their minds, so that you may be able to discover with better accuracy the peculiar bent of the genius of each.“
Be good to yourself and others,
