We’d like to give you a quick overview of 2025. This year, we’ve been able to achieve a great deal together with the villagers in Burkina Faso, and we couldn’t have done it without your support. Thank you so much!
For example, did you know that:
– ASAP Foundation supports 6 nursery schools with a total of 340 students?
– And 15 primary schools, providing books, water bottles, and, if funding allows, a lunch program? There are over 3,500 students in these schools.
– This school year, we have 313 students and 25 permanent employees (teachers and support staff) at the LAP? We also employ 7 part-time employees and 9 part-time teachers.
– So far, we have been able to build and equip 5 rural medical centers? This has improved access to healthcare for almost 10,000 people!
– Over the years, we have been able to finance more than 70 wells? This has provided almost 15,000 people with clean water!
– There are now 3 vegetable garden projects for almost 300 women? This project increases their income by 70 euros per year.
– As many as 2,500 women now have microcredit? It’s a small loan of 35 euros per year, allowing them to start their own business!
– 170 beekeepers (70% of whom are women!) have been able to obtain subsidized beehives? Each beekeeper has an annual yield of 100 euros!
– Shea butter production has tripled? From an annual turnover of 60 euros to 180 euros! More than 100 women can process the shea nuts mechanically.
– 5 people work for APPA in our office in Bobo Dioulasso? They seek funding in Burkina Faso for village projects.
– 6 full-time and 4 part-time employees work for VPMD? This cooperative was established to take over production using raw materials from the villages, such as honey, shea butter (for soap and cream), and carob beans (for Soumbala). Fun fact: this year’s honey harvest is much better than in 2024. A whopping 22,000 kg of raw honey was harvested!
– ABF employs 5 people to make hygiene kits (with washable sanitary pads) and school uniforms?

Back in Burkina!
Hervé and Eugénie recently spent three weeks in Burkina Faso. For Hervé, it had been six months, and for Eugénie, more than three and a half years!
The security situation in the area where ASAP operates has improved significantly. This allowed Hervé to return safely to the villages for the first time in three years!
Eugénie visited the LAP and the primary school in Nefrelaye to talk about menstruation.
It was wonderful to see them back in their element in Burkina!
